Following on from the Lucky Guy stunt, I used the "actor" photo to try to persuade a lot of British celebrities that I was a wannabe star in the making, an oily no-hoper coming to them for pearls of advice on making it to the big time. I had hoped to present them with an awkward challenge: how to gently let down someone who clearly shouldn't be let near a TV camera. The results were surprising. In almost all cases people were polite, gracious and helpful. My smug ruse had backfired. Never underestimate the kindness of strangers.
